The Pioneers before us -
the story behind our name
LOMA derives its name from two trailblazing women in technology:
Ada Lovelace and Hedy Lamarr Ada Lovelace, renowned as a pioneering mathematician and writer, is often celebrated as the world’s first computer programmer. Her groundbreaking work on Charles Babbage’s Analytical Engine laid the foundation for computing as we know it today.
Hedy Lamarr, a celebrated actress and innovative inventor, co-developed a frequency-hopping spread spectrum technology. This invention was a precursor to modern wireless communications, including Wi-Fi and Bluetooth.
Without these two, tech wouldn’t be what it is today. We at LOMA, we are continuously inspired by these remarkable women and their contributions to technology and innovation.
Our Journey And Beliefs
Loma Talent was born from a passion for equality and a deep understanding of the transformative power of technology. Our journey began with the recognition of the underrepresentation of women in the tech industry, and the realisation that this underrepresentation stifles innovation and progress. Determined to make a difference, we set out to create a company that would actively address this disparity.
About the founder
Anais Hubert, the visionary founder of LOMA, has long been an advocate for diversity and inclusion. After working in an IT staffing company, she observed a glaring lack of female representation and applications for roles she managed, while being part of a team of 13 men herself.
This disparity fueled her determination to make a change.
Anais couldn’t sit back and watch the underrepresentation of women in tech persist; she felt a profound responsibility to act. Drawing on her lifelong commitment to diversity, which began in her secondary school days as a key member of the DEI committee, she has spearheaded numerous initiatives to promote inclusivity.
Her company tackles this issue through targeted recruitment, informative newsletters, empowering events, and robust community support groups. Anais’s mission is to inspire as many women as possible to achieve what was once deemed unachievable, transforming an industry that has remained stagnant for far too long.
